Using this month's here and now to take a moment of mindfulness and connect to the present moment as my mind tries to run ahead to the months to come...
Brassicas are going to flower as the warmer weather kicks in.
Overwintered herbs are getting to harvest-able stage after hibernation.
Loving // The warmth of spring. We've had a few days in the past week that have actually been hot (comparatively!). I know we'll get a last frost or two but it's nice to feel a true shift in the season.
Eating // Lots of bagels lately, but otherwise nothing really new. Still a little early to notice any food seasonal changes. Not much kitchen experimenting going on as we just 'do life'.
Drinking // less tea, got the kombucha started again which is making an appearance and still my daily iced coffee which is spending some time in the freezer before being consumed now it's heating up.
Kombucha brewing.
Feeling // I'm not sure how I'm feeling lately honestly - kind of stressed/anxious as we make some decisions to bring on big changes in the next few months in our family...but not so stressed and anxious it's taking up my every thought - it's just hovering there with the giant 'to do' list that goes with it. At the same time there is the renewing aspect of change as well and all the excitement and 'looking forward to'...so it's a strange mix. Not completely comfortable at times but not completely unpleasant either.
Making // Not much to be honest. Mostly making space - de-cluttering physically and a little mentally too!
Thinking // About way too many things...as you do when change is on the horizon. On a simpler note thinking about longer warmer days and all that comes with that - later meals, more socialising, extra hours at the end of the day.
Dreaming // Of adventure....
What's happening here & now for you? Any shifts with the season or big changes in your world?

Your kombucha has a lovely color. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you have less stressful days soon, and will be able to get everything on your to-do list done.
thanks Nil! You know those to-do lists - they are never ending :)
DeleteSince writing my here and now post, linking it and then reading the other blog posts I am so pleased to see everyone else is also experiencing the "what? It's October??" moments too :-) Megan
ReplyDeleteYes, it's such a cliche but the year really is flying by!
DeleteLaura, we had 29C a couple of days ago and currently it is raining and is 11C. What a drop in temps! I have had so many veggies so to seed because of the heat and now it is cool again. Can't win eh?
ReplyDeleteSpring is a bit of a fickle weather friend I find Chel. Glad to hear you got some rain though.
DeleteOctober surprised me too, Laura. It seems it can't quite be right! But, when I see the $2 shops covered in Halloween cobwebs, I know it must be! MegXx
ReplyDeleteYes, and soon it'll be Christmas decorations Meg!!
DeleteAh I hear you about change on the horizon and the jumbled feelings it brings.
ReplyDeleteI often find that de-cluttering helps with clearing space in my mind and helping me feel more prepared for whatever is ahead. I have come via the "here and now" link up. You have a really lovely blog and one I am happy to add into my sidebar.
xx
Yes Emma, you would be all too aware of the feelings with the changes happening in your part of the world.
DeleteThanks for visiting, I've been following along on your happenings for a while and love to read your blog :)
We're so far from having things bolt into flower...is it bad that I'm feeling little jealous of bolting? Oh my. I definitely need some time in the garden!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the decisions and changes ahead. Hopefully things will be more certain and less stressful soon.
time in the garden is never a bad thing. Thanks, yes things have gotten a lot less stressful this week...for now!!
DeleteOctober seems to have crept up here too and the year seems to be whizzing by in no time. I hope all your changes go smoothly for you. We have a major one ahead as we are selling our big family home of nearly thirty year to downsize so clots of clearing and de cluttering going on.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a big change Gina. Take care as you clear and transition :)
DeleteBeing on the cusp of change is always unsettling and distracting. I hope your stress eases soon.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, that sourdough in your last photo looks sooooo good!
Thanks for joining in Here & Now again!
Sarah
